We have mentioned the reason for his emigration from the lands of Persia, and the beginning of his reports until his arrival in the Hijaz. Our Master Rozaba remained with the disciples of Jesus—exalted be his glory—after his occultation, announcing the Call, bearing witness that there is no deity except God, affirming the Messengership of Jesus, and longing with yearning for our Lord the Messenger Muhammad—exalted be his glory—until he appeared with Prophecy and Messengership. He then emigrated to him as we explained; he is Rozaba ibn al-Marzuban, and he is the Gate, peace be upon him.

When Lord Muhammad—exalted be his glory—purchased him, he named him Salman, and our Master—exalted be his glory—named him Salsal and Salsabil. He is the Gate in every age and time; he is Salman even if his names and attributes change. This is what the Group of Monotheists has agreed upon; there is no disagreement among them that the Gate of God is a Gate forever—whether he precedes or follows, manifests or vanishes, is silent or speaks. He is the speaking Gate of the Messenger, who is the House and the Veil for our Master Amir Almuminin, exalted be his glory—so know that. As for how Lord Muhammad—exalted be his glory—favored him through his indications toward him, both outwardly and inwardly:

(398) Among these is his saying—exalted be his glory: "Gabriel brought me Prophecy from God; he is the guide to His revelation, and he used to bring me His command when He commanded, and His prohibition when He prohibited, and he brings me what my Lord gifts me."

(399) Among his indications—exalted be his glory: "Salman is of us, the People of the House (Ahl al-Bayt)." It was asked of him: "From the Banu Hashim?" He replied: "Yes, from the Banu Hashim; he has known the knowledge of the first and the last."
