Then the Lord al-Rida vanished and the Meaning appeared as Muhammad ibn Ali al-Jawad, the Ninth. The Name was Ali ibn Muhammad al-Hadi al-Askari—exalted be his glory—the Tenth.

Then the Lord Muhammad al-Jawad vanished and the Meaning appeared as Ali al-Hadi al-Askari, the Tenth. The Name was al-Hasan ibn Ali al-Askari, the Eleventh, the Master of the Army.

Then the Lord Ali vanished and the Meaning appeared as the Lord al-Hasan. The Name was Muhammad ibn al-Hasan, the Awaited and Hoped-for Qa’im—exalted be his glory. He is pure Mim because he is the Ninth of the Mim-personages who comprise the nine Essential [manifestations] previously mentioned. The Meaning—exalted be His mention and majestic be His power—was our Master al-Hasan—exalted be his glory—according to what we have clarified, and the Name was our Master Muhammad ibn al-Hasan al-Mahdi, the Hoped-for—exalted be his glory.

Know this and thank your Master—Sanctified is His Name—for what He has conveyed to you and favored you with. Seek increase from Him; He shall increase you in His blessings and goodness, as He said in the precise sections of His speaking Book: {And when your Lord proclaimed, "If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor]; but if you deny, indeed, My punishment is severe"}¹. We seek refuge in God from His punishment.

Abu al-Hassan Ra’iq bin al-Khidr recited to me—may God be pleased with him:

This is the True Story and the Straight Path, and there is no God besides God, for the servants He is the Wali.

Whoever counts that as doubt is the blind transgressor; and "God" is a Name for a Meaning, and the speech regarding it is hidden.

The Name is a Mim and its Meaning—if you understand—is Ali.
