We return to the mention of the disciples, who are the twelve Nakibs in the time of Lord Messiah—exalted be his glory.
(378) The Messenger—exalted be his glory—said: "Indeed I have disciples like the disciples of the Messiah"—exalted be his glory—which is proof that they are they. He said: "By the One in whose hand is my soul, I accept no deeds except those of the Elite." He means the station of Adam's head and that he is He; for this reason he named them the Disciples.
As for their saying: {And [remember] when the disciples said, "O Jesus, son of Mary, can your Lord send down to us a table from the heaven?" He said, "Fear God, if you should be believers."}1
(379) It is related that Jesus—exalted be his glory—said to the disciples: "What thing do you wish to be on the table?" They said: "We want thin bread, hot fish, and herbs." He pointed his hand to the heaven and said: {Jesus, son of Mary, said, "O God, our Lord, send down to us a table from the heaven to be for us a festival for the first of us and the last of us and a sign from You. And provide for us, and You are the best of providers."}2 Instantly, the table descended upon them from the heaven containing what they requested. They ate from it, but Jesus did not eat, for they are the Elite who know that He feeds but is not fed.
(380) It is related that when the Jews gathered to kill him, they came to him with Judas Iscariot, who preceded them and entered the house where our Lord Messiah—exalted be his glory—was, to see if he was there and inform them. When Judas entered, he saw the Messiah sitting; he kissed him between his eyes. The Messiah said to him: "This is a kiss of deceit," and he wiped his hand over Judas's face, casting his own likeness upon him. Judas went out to inform them that he was in the house. When the Jews saw him in the form of the Messiah, they thought he was him, so they pounced on him and killed him while he cried: "I am Judas!"
