When he was in Paradise and witnessed the youths and maidens, He inspired him: "Go out, O Idris." He replied: "O Lord, You guaranteed for Yourself that whoever enters Paradise shall not leave it." This is according to the People of the Outward.
As for the People of the Inward—who are the guided People of Reality—they know that all these acts manifested by Idris, which he informed he had witnessed, were witnessed through Knowledge and Clarification. For you know, O my lord—may I be your ransom—that Idris is the Lord Supreme Name and the most Majestic and Honored Veil. He is the one who created Paradise and the Fire; in his hand is the creation of mortals, their resurrection, death, and life. All is in his grasp, entrusted to him by his Master, the Prince of Bees—exalted be his glory.
As for their saying, out of the foolishness of their intellects, that he crossed the Path—have they not related that the Path is thinner than a hair and sharper than a sword? Do you not know that a wise man, when he hears noble, fine knowledge directly—knowledge he had not heard or known before—says: "The understanding of this knowledge is too thin for my mind to grasp"? The knowledge of Oneness is subtle—thinner than a hair and sharper than a sword. The sword is made of Iron, as God—glory be to Him—said: {And We sent down iron, wherein is great might}1—iron against those who deny Him. Likewise the Thunderbolt, for God the Almighty said: {And the thunder exalts [God] with praise of Him, and the angels [as well] from fear of Him; and He sends thunderbolts and strikes therewith whom He wills while they dispute about God; and He is severe in assault.}2 Each is according to the measure of his status in knowledge and action alongside his brothers.
