These nine names we mentioned to you are pure Mim. Flowing in the course of these nine Essential names of the Name's stations are: al-Rayyan ibn Duf' and his son al-Walid (who is the Aziz of Egypt); followed in the Mosaic Cycle by the names: Shubbar, Shubayr, and Mushabbir. The Name appeared there through five persons, just as he appeared in the Abrahamic Cycle and the Muhammadan Cycle through five persons. Some are pure Mim like these nine, namely: Fatir and Muhsin—and our lord Muhsin is the "Hidden Kindness."

(352) It is related that God the Almighty in pre-eternity before the scattering had five names: "The Will (al-Mashi'a), the Primordial Nature (al-Fitra), the Knowledge (al-Ilm), the Power (al-Qudra), and the Hidden Kindness (al-Lutf al-Khafi). The Will is the Mim; the Primordial Nature is Fatir; the Knowledge is al-Hasan; the Power is al-Husayn; and the Hidden Kindness is al-Muhsin—he is the hidden person whom the eyes of the deniers have not seen." Therefore the commoners say a phrase whose meaning they do not know: "Truly God has a hidden kindness," and their saying: "The Will belongs to God" and "the Power belongs to God"—both refer to the Lord Mim, and he belongs to the Meaning.

(353) It is related from the Nakib Muhammad ibn Sinan al-Zahiri—peace be upon him—that he said: "I saw Muhammad of Praise in seventy stations and I doubted nothing in them, until I saw him in the Muhammadan manifestation having appeared with a vulva and hair in femininity. I lowered my gaze as one doubting him, and thus I was veiled." God—the Mighty and Sublime—said: In the name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful. "God" (Allah) is the Mim, "the Compassionate" is al-Hasan, and "the Merciful" is al-Husayn.

(354) This is supported by what my lord and sheikh—may God illuminate his person—narrated from his sheikh Abu al-Husayn al-Muqri, from his sheikh Abu Ishaq al-Rifa'i, who said: My sheikh Abu Abd Allah al-Khasibi—may God raise his rank—narrated to me, saying: My sheikh Abu Muhammad Abd Allah narrated to me, saying:
