(343) The narration has appeared from al-Fadl ibn al-Abbas—peace be upon him—who said: "I saw the soul of the Messenger of God flow into the palm of Amir Almuminin—exalted be his glory," as previously mentioned.

(344) It has been related from our sheikh the Lord Abu Abd Allah al-Khasibi—may God illuminate his person—regarding the word of God the Almighty: {You know what is within my soul, and I do not know what is within Your soul...}1 that he intended by that the "Soul of Permanent Life." Since there is nothing in the sovereignty more noble than him, nor any soul higher, whoever says that he and the Meaning are equal has disbelieved.

(345) And his saying—exalted be his glory—to the disciples: "Truly that which I perform and which you see of my actions is from the action of the Father; by His power, His will, and His strength do I act."

The Noble Book bore witness to this, recounting his words—the Mighty and Sublime: {[And make him] a messenger to the Children of Israel, [who says], "Indeed I have come to you with a sign from your Lord in that I design for you from clay [that which is] like the form of a bird, then I breathe into it and it becomes a bird by permission of God. And I cure the blind and the leper, and I give life to the dead by permission of God. And I inform you of what you eat and what you store in your houses. Indeed in that is a sign for you, if you are believers."}2

The Sage al-Jali—may God sanctify his soul—said: Lord Abu Abd Allah al-Khasibi—may God ennoble his station—said: "God the Meaning possesses knowledge regarding the Name which the Name does not know."
