It is related that the Prophet—exalted be his glory—was never seen to have a shadow1 in sun or moon, nor was any excrement or urine seen from him; no fly landed on him, no dust covered him, nor did he yawn or stretch. He saw behind him as he saw before him, and the cloud shaded him from the time of his manifestation until the time of his occultation. He informed of what was in the souls and made known what was and what will be. He fed the many from the few and gave drink to the many from the few. He removed the excuse, clarified the path, and was distinct from the creation in his being, character, action, and speech, and he made that clear to them.

(341) He said—exalted be his glory: "I am not like any of you; I remain with my Lord, and He feeds me and gives me drink." There are many such examples we have not mentioned.

Certain people claimed divinity for him when they witnessed from him what we mentioned. At that, he said: {Say, "I am only a mortal like you to whom it has been revealed that your god is one God. So whoever would hope for the meeting with his Lord—let him do righteous work and not associate in the worship of his Lord anyone."}2 This was an indication from him toward the Ain and a negation of that for himself; then he confessed to being a servant.

The Almighty said of him: {Indeed, God is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. That is a straight path.}3 He commanded them to worship the Meaning instead of himself, affirming that He is his Master who possesses him. Then he announced this by speech on the Day of Ghadir and called for the Oneness of his Lord and Creator, the High, the Great. That day was a day of disclosure and proclamation from the well-known gatherings.
