This is among the clearest proofs that obedience to the Name is mandatory because prostration is obedience. Prostration is for the Name, and worship is for the Meaning. Likewise, facing is toward the Name, while worship is for the Meaning with sincerity.
And His word: {It is You we worship and You we ask for help}1.
"{It is You}" falls as an indication to the Mim, while the intent of worship is for the Ain. The Meaning—exalted be his glory—did not produce nor bring into being anything other than the Name—exalted be his glory. The Name then brought all things into being and created them by His permission and will. Regarding this is His word—the Sublime and Exalted: {Indeed, Our word to a thing when We intend it is but that We say to it, "Be," and it is.}2
"Be" (Kun) is a name among the names of the Lord Mim. The Meaning—exalted be His power—commanded the Name without an intermediary, so he created the Gate—who is Gabriel—creating him from the light of his light. Then the Lord Mim vanished from him, and the matter became confusing for the Sin. He turned right and left, neither bewildered nor doubting, yet he saw no one. He lowered his gaze and saw no one. Then the Name made him firm and granted him success by the Master's will and intent for him.
Later, the Name manifested to him, and he saw the greatness of his majesty and the radiance of his light and beauty. He pointed to him with deification and said: "I bear witness that there is no deity except..." intending to complete it with "...you." But the High, the Great granted him success and the Lord Mim guided him; he raised his gaze to the height and saw the Meaning—Exalted and Sublime. At that moment he said: "...God." Thus the word of Oneness was completed for the Worshipped Pre-eternal.
