This mention is proof that He is the Peace (al-Salam), according to the words of the Almighty: {He is God, other than whom there is no deity, the Sovereign, the Pure, the Peace, the Bestower of Faith, the Overseer, the Exalted in Might, the Compeller, the Superior. Exalted is God above whatever they associate with Him}.1
Among His names: The Self-Sufficient (al-Ghani)
(293) The proof for this is what was related by consensus: when the Messenger of God—exalted be his glory—married him to Fatima, the disbelievers of Quraysh—may God curse them—said: "He married Fatima to a poor man (faqir) with no wealth." So God sent down: {God has already heard the statement of those who said, "Indeed, God is poor and we are rich." We shall write what they have said and their killing of the prophets without right and say, "Taste the punishment of the Burning Fire."}2 He confirmed this with His word, the Mighty and Sublime: {O mankind, you are those in need of God, while God is the Self-Sufficient, the Praiseworthy}.3
Among His names—exalted be His majesty: The Truth (al-Haqq)
(294) By this, the Lord Messenger—exalted be his glory—indicated Him by saying: "The Ain is Truth just as I am the Messenger of God in Truth." Then he clarified, saying: "Whoever desires the Truth, let him look at Ali; the Truth is with Ali wherever he may be." This is supported by the words of the Almighty: {That is because God is the Truth, and that what they invoke besides Him is falsehood, and because God is the High, the Great}4. And the words of the Almighty: {That Day, God will pay them in full their deserved religion, and they will know that God is the Manifest Truth}5.
