"Adam, Jacob, Moses, Aaron, Solomon, Jesus, Abd Allah ibn Abd al-Muttalib, Muhammad the Messenger of God, and Muhammad ibn al-Hasan al-Askari."

These are the nine Essential names of the Name, in addition to the fifty-four Exemplary names. To these Exemplary names we mentioned, our lord al-Khasibi—may God brighten his face—pointed in the jurisprudence of the epistle al-Rastabashiyya, interpreting the words of the Almighty: {And do not hasten with the Quran before its revelation is completed to you, and say, "My Lord, increase me in knowledge"}1.

In his explanation of its inward jurisprudence, he said: "This is the address of the Name to the Gate. Whoever does not know this explanation of jurisprudence makes it the address of the Meaning to the Name, which is not permissible." This is because the words: {And do not hasten with the Quran} represent a prohibition in the address, and prohibition is not fitting for the Name, nor does the Name fall under prohibition. Only the originated falls under prohibition. We have proven that Muhammad—exalted be his glory—is ancient, not originated in terms of creation, and we negated that from him as it must be negated due to the station of the Name toward the Meaning. What we have mentioned is sufficient. These Exemplary names are those he pointed to, stating they are names of the Name used for the Meaning—exalted be his glory. He negated "origination" (hadath) from them, and denied that they are originated like other originated things or created like other created beings, out of glorification for them and magnification of the Meaning’s manifestation in their form before mortals, and His being named by them among the Elite and the commoners.
