To proceed:

I have received your letter, O illustrious brother—noble in worth and eminent in reputation. May Allah encompass you with His care, overshadow you with His sufficiency, and elevate you from the proximity of the human realm (Nasut) to the enclosures of the Kingdom (Malakut).

In it, you mention what you have discerned with your intellect—which is the balance between you and your Lord—noting that despite the firm bond of brotherhood and love between us, and our long history of discourse and companionship, you had not yet asked me about the circumstances of my meeting and association with my Shaykh and Remembrancer (may Allah be pleased with him). You had not known the details of how he specifically favored me with his spiritual fatherhood.

You now ask me to dispatch this account to you with haste, and to gift you alongside it the marvelous sciences he bestowed upon me—those he narrated from the trustworthy Shaykhs—as well as the traditional reports and oral transmissions I have gathered from other brothers and masters. You requested that all of this be concise, summarized, and organized into chapters, so that it may be easily grasped by every Gnostic who hears it, and may inspire every virtuous Unitarian (Muwahhid) to act upon it and follow its path.
