Then he stretched his noble hand and pulled it back to his shoulder; behold, Mu'awiya was before him, trembling like a palm leaf on a day of violent wind. I looked at him thoroughly. Then Amir Almuminin said to him: "Go about your business where you were, so that God may accomplish a matter already ordained." He vanished from my sight. Then he said to me: "O Asbagh, did you not know that Asaph ibn Berechiah brought the throne of Bilqis in less than the blink of an eye? I am the All-Knowing Guardian; if I willed, I would bring the East to the West and the West to the East." I said: "O my Master, I have believed and trusted; Exalted is Your power."
(268) By his chain from our lord Abu Abd Allah al-Husayn ibn Hamdan al-Khasibi—may God brighten his face—reaching Ammar ibn Yasir—peace be upon him—who said to our lord the Messenger of God—exalted be his glory: "O Messenger of God, on the day of Uhud I retreated with the people and ascended the mountain. I saw forty horsemen of the Quraysh in the valley, just as I saw them on level ground. They were swearing and taking oaths1, each one of them swearing he saw Ali behind him. Yet I saw my Master Amir Almuminin—exalted be his glory—never leaving his spot." The Prophet—exalted be his glory—said to him: "O Ammar, there were forty angels with Ali in his image. When he moved to charge, the forty angels charged. Each of those men saw the image of an angel in the image of Ali. O Ammar, did you see your Master Ali leave his spot?" I said: "No, O my Master."
The Lord Abu Abd Allah al-Khasibi—may God brighten his face—said: This is a teaching for us within the saying of the Lord Messenger—exalted be his glory—to Ammar—peace be upon him: "Did you see your Master leave his spot?" He said: "No, O Messenger of God." It teaches us that our Master is the one who removes things yet does not vanish; He transforms all beings yet is not transformed. He turns the sights in seeing Him yet is not overturned; He shows the eyes whatever He wills to show them.
