He is the Knowledge encompassing the people of the earth and the heaven, and the Grace hidden from the people of confusion and blindness. From him, the lights shone in the Pole, and the Stations (Maqāmāt) and Veils appeared. His Master honored him when He appeared in a likeness to his image in manifestation, bestowing upon him all Names and Attributes. Thus, he is the Master Muḥammad: the Praised, the One, the Intended. Whoever knows him has known the Existing Lord, the One Worshipped. He is the Enlightener of lights, the Creator of night and day, the Sender of rain, and the Runner of rivers. He is the Caller to his Creator in all cycles and eras (al-akwār wa al-adwār). To him belong the created beings, the creation, the originations, and the keys of the people of the earth and heavens; to him is their return and upon him is their account. He donned for them what they wear, and executed His command in what was and what will be. Concerning him, He—Exalted is His praise—says: {So exalted is He in whose hand is the realm of all things and to whom you will be returned} (36:83).
May the blessings of the High, the Great, be upon this Noble Veil, and His flourishing greetings and peace be upon him and upon the Gate (Bāb) of his lofty House—the locus of the attributes of his Noble Name. He commanded the nation to obey him, for their worship is not complete except through seeking him and knowing him. As His Power—exalted is she—said: {And it is not righteousness to enter houses from their backs, but righteousness is [in] one who fears Allah. And enter houses from their doors} (2:189).
He is the radiant and shining Light, and the Guide to every messenger and prophet. He is the first being that the Place (al-Makān) brought into existence and ordained. From the light of his light, He created and fashioned him, entrusting to him His command and His prohibition. He is the regulator of the spheres, the master of the angels, uniquely designated with Revelation and Secrets, and the master of the promise and the warning.
