As my grandfather and my exemplar al-Khasibi—may God ennoble his station—said in his poetry, which is the guidance of the Knower:

Seven names He is called, A Namer, not a named one.

Whoever says that the one upon the pulpit saying "I did" or "I made" is the Mim has disbelieved and strayed far into error. For our Master’s saying—exalted be his glory: "I," refers only to the speaker, just as someone says: "I am the scholar" or "I am the generous" or "I am the brave." This word refers only to its speaker.

None says "I" but the Meaning, the God of the worlds, Ali, Amir Almuminin, the One of vast knowledge. He is the one who invented the Lord Name, produced him, and originated him from the light of His Essence; He created him and informed him of His will. Thus He is his God and his Meaning, the One who has power over him and possesses him. The Name is a servant to Him, created from Him, in need of Him, and never devoid of Him. That form of vast knowledge is neither created nor nominal, but is the Ancient, Unitary Essence. He is the Irresistible over His servants, saying upon the pulpits of His majesty: "I did, I made," through the tongue of His power. There is no god but Him and no goal above Him.

The Name may be manifest through several persons; but in reality, even if they were a thousand persons, he is one: the Lord Mim, exalted be his glory. The Meaning—exalted be his glory—manifests only as a single person. The evidence for this is the word of the Almighty: {Had there been within the heavens and earth gods besides God, they both would have been ruined. So glory be to God, Lord of the Throne, above what they describe}.1
