The "One" (al-Ahad) is the Meaning; the "Unique" (al-Wahid) is the Name, which is the root of number. He is the Throne that enthroned knowledge in the hearts of the People of Knowledge. He is the warning Soul regarding which God the Almighty said: {The Day every soul will find what it has done of good present [before it] and what it has done of evil, it will wish that between itself and that evil was a great distance. And God warns you of Himself, and God is Kind to [His] servants}1.
(204) Regarding this, the Lord Muhammad—exalted be his glory—says: "The most knowledgeable among you of himself is the most knowledgeable among you of his Lord," meaning: "The most knowledgeable among you of the Mim is the most knowledgeable among you of the Ain." For whoever recognizes the Name in its reality has recognized the Meaning, and his worship is validated.
(205) It is related by consensus from our Master Amir Almuminin—exalted be his glory—that he would say in his oath: "By the right of Him in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad."
(206) It was related from al-Fadl ibn al-Abbas—peace be upon him—that he said: "The soul of the Messenger of God flowed into the palm of Amir Almuminin—exalted be their glory—like a white pearl, and he brought it to his mouth." He recited: {O reassured soul, return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing [to Him], and enter among My servants, and enter My Paradise}2.
Aisha likewise related it. "His servants" in this context refers to the two Has, while "Paradise" is the Lord Fatir—exalted be his glory.
