Glory be to Him and Exalted is He far above what the wrongdoers say. Thus he manifested incapacity and asked him to be shown the place of the grave; the manifestation of incapacity by the Powerful is itself a Power. The believers believe in the manifestation of incapacity just as they believe in the miracle.
(201) It has been related that the Lord al-Sadiq—exalted be his glory—used to say in his supplication: "I believe in Your incapacity and Your miracle, O Prince of Bees." Thus, the manifestation of incapacity is for a specific wisdom, just as the manifestation of the miracle is for a specific wisdom.
(202) It has been related concerning the Lord Adam—exalted be his glory—that he manifested grief and regret over Abel, remaining in that state for a long duration. Subsequently, he joined Eve and she conceived Seth. When she gave birth to him, Adam named him Hibat-Allah (the Gift of God), meaning: "God has granted me a substitute for Abel." God then inspired him to name him Seth and to take him as his successor (wasi).
Exalted is He who neither begets nor is born, and there is none co-equal to Him. The Meaning—exalted be His mention—manifested in Essence as Seth, the Pre-eternal and Ancient, who is called Hermes of Hermeses. He undertook the succession and the Imamate, manifesting the compilation of the Scrolls of Adam, gathering them into twelve thousand bovine hides. He is the Abiding One, the Worshipped, the Meaning—exalted be his glory—the Deity pointed to by existence; blessed and sanctified is He. The Meaning—exalted be his glory—also manifested as Joseph from Jacob in Essence—exalted be He whose Essence resembles no other essences.
He manifested the story of the pit, the caravan, and what his brothers did to him in the outward sense, as well as his story with the Vizier (al-Aziz), who was al-Walid ibn Mus’ab ibn al-Rayyan ibn Dawfa’, the Master of the Pyramids, and Zuleika his wife.
