Then we recovered, and we were like the state of a sleeper when he wakes from his sleep. We saw the Messenger of God, Mighty is His Might, and he said: "How long have you tarried?" We said: "An hour or part of an hour." He said: "Nay, you tarried seven nights and eight days." Then two men from the people broke the oath and disbelieved, saying: "This is clear magic! Shall we believe in two mortals like ourselves, while their people are our worshippers?" This day is known to the people of the outward and is called "The Allegiance of the House" (Bay'at al-Dar).

This allegiance was before the allegiance of the Day of Ghadir. So what clarification is clearer, what witness is more just, and what proof is greater than what has appeared in this report from the Lord Messenger Muhammad, Mighty is His Might, and what he manifested to the people of realities and faith, and spread for the possessors of intellect and minds—of the declaration and announcement of the Oneness of his Master, and his indication toward him: that he is his Goal and his Meaning (Ma'na). Exalted is God and sanctified are His names.

THE FOURTH PROOF: THE GUIDANCE OF THE INTELLECT

We had previously stated at the beginning of this chapter that the Truth is established only by four: the Noble Book of God, the word of His Messenger (Mighty is His Might), the consensus of the people of sublime knowledge, and the proof of the radiant intellect. We have established these three testimonies: the Speaking Book, the Truthful Report, and the consensus of the people of realities.
