Another child among them answered: "We witnessed Your matter, so we worshipped You when we recognized You." Amir Almuminin, Mighty is His Might, said: "Gently, gently! Do not bear witness to this except for the Worshipped Lord, the Lord of the Worlds." A child among them said: "We bear witness that there is no god but You, O Amir Almuminin!" He, Mighty is His Might, gave a cry that caused a clamor in Medina, and he rendered the children mute after that.

(191) Abu al-Hasan Raiq ibn al-Khadar al-Ghassani narrated to me: Abu Abd Allah Ishaq ibn Muhammad ibn Fahd—may God be pleased with them both—narrated to me by his chain traced back to our Master al-Baqir, Mighty is His Might, who was asked about the "lineage of the Lord." He said: "Five words for five prayers: God is One (ahad); Muhammad is the Praise (al-hamd); Muhammad is the Eternal Refuge (al-samad); the Originator (fatir) did not beget al-Hasan and al-Husayn, nor was he begotten from Muhammad; and there has never been any peer to our Master Amir Almuminin."

DUSTING (AL-ITRAB)

(192) By his chain of transmission, the Negus (al-Najashi), peace be upon him, complained to the Messenger of God, Mighty is His Might, that he would write letters but they would not reach him. The Prophet, Mighty is His Might, said to him: "Dust them (atrib-ha)." The Negus said to him: "O Messenger of God, I do scatter dust upon them." The Prophet said: "This is not their dusting." The Negus asked: "Then what is their dusting?" He—Mighty is His Might—said to him: "Their dusting is that you write at the opening of the letter with a pen without ink: By Abu Turab I open, and by him I succeed; by him I begin and by him I conclude; in him I trust, and he is the Lord of the first and the last, and he is Ali, Amir Almuminin."
