(188) From Muhammad ibn Sinan, peace be upon him: I looked at Bashshar al-Sha'iri, peace be upon him, while he was calling out in the City of the Messenger, Mighty is His Might: "At Your service, O First of the first! At Your service, O Last of the last! At Your service, O Ja'far!" His companions found this appalling and said: "You have broadcast the secret of God before its time and you were not commanded." He said: "Leave me, woe to you! I entered upon my Master Ja'far al-Sadiq, Mighty is His Might, and found him upon the wing of an eagle in a garden of light. When I saw him, I fell prostrate, and he said to me: 'O Bashshar, raise your head, for a time shall surely come upon the people when they shall pray to me.'" I asked: "When is that, O my Master, there is no god but You?" He said: "When the nations gather and call out from the bell-towers: 'Ali is the Lord of the Worlds.'"

(189) From him from our Master al-Mufaddal ibn Umar, peace be upon him: Our Master al-Sadiq, Mighty is His Might, said: "Amir Almuminin, Mighty is His Might, passed by children playing in the laps of their mothers and said to them: "Who is your Lord?" They said: "You are the Unique One in this world and the Unique One in the Hereafter." He said to them: "Be silent, this is not the time for your speech." For this reason, a child does not speak until reaching two years of age.”

(190) It is narrated that our Master Amir Almuminin, Mighty is His Power, passed by children playing in Medina and said: "O children, he who leaves you finds rest, and he who speaks to you gives rest." A child among them answered: "Yes, You left us and You are above us; and You gave us rest when You made us recognize Your Veil." Amir Almuminin, Mighty is His Might, said to him: "Gently, gently, my son, [have] mercy and [know] the place of knowledge."
