(179) Abu al-Hasan al-Hayaji narrated to me: I asked Sheikh Abu Sa'id, may God be pleased with him, about what was mentioned in this report and others regarding the mention of the bees (al-firash) and the saying of Daniel, Mighty is His Might: "I saw the Ancient of Days upon a horse of gold, wearing two sandals of gold, with a swarm of golden bees around him"? He said: I asked my sheikh, the trustworthy master Abu al-Hasan Muhammad ibn Ali al-Jali—may God sanctify his soul—about this report, and he said: My hearing of it is from my master and sheikh Abu Abd Allah al-Husayn ibn Hamdan al-Khusaybi, may God ennoble his station, who said: "The bees (al-firash) are the persons of the Name; they are the Veils of Lights and the swarm of Light, Mighty is Their Might."

(180) Our Master al-Sadiq, Mighty is His Might, was asked about the saying of God Almighty to Moses and Aaron: {Indeed, I am with you both, I hear and I see}. He said: "We were with them both; by God, none was with them but the Amir of the Bees."

(181) From our Master the Knower, Mighty is His Might, that he said: "We gave prophecy to the Prophets and sent the Messengers." It was asked: "Who spoke to Moses from the tree?" He said: "The Youth of the Hashimites."

(182) Abu al-Sabah al-Kinani, peace be upon him, narrated: I heard al-Sadiq, Mighty is His Might, saying: "God Almighty manifested to Abraham in his Arabic veil, and Abraham said: 'This is my Lord.' When it set, he said: 'I love not those that set.' When He appeared to him in his Khosrowite and Hebrew veils, he said: 'This is my Lord.' When it set, his soul grew fearful and he said: 'O Ancient of Days, if You guide me not, I shall surely be of the people who go astray.' Then He appeared to him in his Persian veil and he said: 'This is my Lord, this is greater.' When it set, he fell prostrate and cried out: 'Your pardon, O Great One! I have turned my face toward Him who originated the heavens and the earth, as a monotheist, and I am not of the polytheists.'
