(176) From a discourse of our Master al-Rida, Mighty is His Might, in a debate that took place between him and Imran the Sabian; for Imran the Sabian, peace be upon him, said to our Master al-Rida, Mighty is His Might: "O our Master, tell me more." So our Master said to him: "Beware, beware, O Imran, of the saying of the ignorant—the people of blindness and delusion—who claim that God, Blessed and Exalted is His Name, exists in the Hereafter for reward and punishment, but does not exist in this world for obedience and pleasure. Do the ignorant not know that if He is worthy of existence for His creation in the Hereafter, He is worthy of existence in this world? If there were any deficiency or diminishment in God's existence in this world, it would be the same in the Hereafter, and He—Glory be to Him—would not exist. But the people have wandered, become deaf and blind to the Truth from where they do not know." And that is the saying of the Glorified and Loftiest in His Book revealed to His sent Prophet: {And whoever is blind in this [world] will be blind in the Hereafter and even further astray from the path}.

(177) Abu Ali Isma'il ibn Ali al-Qummi related it in his book known as The Book of Manifestations, narrated from al-Mufaddal ibn Umar al-Ju'fi, peace be upon him: "Moses, Mighty is His Might, came with Aaron to Pharaoh at a time when no one was allowed to enter upon him. He sought permission, but the gatekeeper said to him: 'This is a time when no one among the people enters upon him.' Moses, Mighty is His Might, said to him: 'Go in and tell him that I wish to enter upon him willingly; otherwise, I shall enter upon him while he is unwilling.'

The gatekeeper entered and said to him: 'Moses and his brother Aaron are at the door seeking entry, and Moses said he must do so.' Pharaoh, may God curse him, said to him: 'Tell him if he has a need, we shall fulfill it, but let him not enter upon us at this time for I dislike it. But if he refuses anything but entry, then let him in.' The gatekeeper went out to him and Moses knew this. Moses refused anything but entry for himself and Aaron, so he permitted them and they entered.
