The purest, most radiant, most complete, and most splendid blessings and peace, and the pleasure of the High, the All-Knowing, be upon the degree of the Joyous ones, beaming with smiles. And upon those who follow them—the world of glory, nobility, and honor—whom their Master has dignified, distinguished, and chosen. For them is the standing in prayer by night and the fasting by day.

The honored masters are presented and heralded—those who rejoiced in the human manifestation (al-bashariyya) through the appearance of their Master, the Essence of Essences (‘Ayn al-‘Uyūn). Among them, the people are arranged into seven ranks:

The Muslims, who surrendered and submitted their affairs to their Ultimate Goal.

The Believers, who believed in Him with the sincerity of their providence.

The Gnostics, who recognized Him through the truth of His indications.

The Scholars, who knew the Reality by the purity of their insight.

The Certain, who preceded in their conviction and feared their Lord through the excellence of their guidance.

The Sincere, who purified their intention for Him in their finality.

The Awe-stricken, who fear and dread their Lord; for them is forgiveness and a noble reward in their dignity.
