The Persians began calling: "O so-and-so, son of so-and-so, indeed Ali ibn Abi Talib calls you." Then, there emerged from the sepulcher people like mountains in height, stature, and hair—immense and terrifying corpses. They were saying: "At your service, at your service, O Caller! The time for your pardon and forgiveness of us has come." Great multitudes and terrifying bodies emerged from the two sepulchers until the space was filled with them and their clamor grew loud.

Then my Master, Mighty is His Might, said to them: "Call now those whom you recognize so they may emerge in the state they are in." Whenever they called a name, a skull would roll out across the earth toward us until it stood before our Master Amir Almuminin, Mighty is His Might, forming a great mound in front of him. Then he turned to one person who had emerged from the sepulchers and began addressing him, asking about his state during the days of his wealth and kingship, what had become of him, and where that state had gone. The person answered with what he knew, until no person remained whom he had not questioned. Then he turned to the assembly of skulls and addressed them just as he had addressed the first ones; their speech and discourse were exactly like the speech and answers of the [restored] persons, point for point, until he had addressed and spoken to every single one of them. The people were bewildered by my Master and what they had witnessed of him.

Then he addressed them all and said with a single word: "Let each of you take hold of the other and return to the state in which you were confined." Each person then went to a skull, carried it in his hand, and headed toward the sepulcher; and each skull went to one of those persons, swallowing the man, and rolling back toward the sepulcher until it entered it. Just as each person took a skull, each skull took a person until they were equal in taking one another, and nothing remained of them.
