The Messenger of God, Mighty is His Might, said to them: "What is it that you want?" They said: "We want the revival of this dead person so that we may believe in you, testify to your message, and enter your religion." The Messenger of God, Mighty is His Might, said to Amir Almuminin, Mighty is His Might: "O Ali, go out to the outskirts of the city with them and revive for them the dead person buried in that grave."

Amir Almuminin, Mighty is His Might, went out with the Christians to the outskirts of the city, and the people of Medina followed them to witness what he would do. He came to the grave, stood over it, struck it with a staff he had with him, and cried out to it: "Rise, O deceased!" The grave split open, the tomb heaved, and behold, a man was sitting without hands in the middle of the grave. He turned right and left, looked at Amir Almuminin, Mighty is His Might, and said to him: "At your service, at your service, O Amir Almuminin, O you who caused me to die then revived me; you are the Reviver of every living thing and its Giver of death."

He said to him: "Inform them of your name and your state." He said: "Yes, my name is Muzahim, the companion of al-Aykah. I ruled from Qaf to Qaf, took a thousand virgins, and commanded and forbade in the East and the West. Then I died, and I stood before you at my death. I saw you judging and decreeing, entering some groups into Paradise and entering others into the Fire. I saw none saved upon the Path except those who recognize you, and I seek refuge in your pardon, so pardon me and protect me." Amir Almuminin, Mighty is His Might, said to him: "Then sleep in your resting place," and he returned to his state.
