with mercies and favors, and successive magnificent blessings, from the Eye of the All-Knowing (al-‘Ayn), the Mīm of Eternity, and the Sīn of Peace, be upon the persons of the noble Phantoms of the Orphans (al-Aytām). Those distinguished by the glories of bounty—the lights of every gloom and darkness, and the splendor of every hope and perfection.

The first and most majestic among them resides in the Second Essential Sphere, marked by the piercing essence. He shines with the most luminous and radiant light, glistening under the protection of his Unique Lord. He is the most magnificent rising one in his growth as he flourishes and blooms: the Righteous among the Believers, the most cherished Red Sulphur (al-Kibrit al-Ahmar). The Orphan who followed the Greatest Master above him, and through whom the gnosis of the Ranks was completed in the form of the image of creation. He is the devoted Lām, the honored and glorious Night-Comer, from whom the brilliant lights were carved and from whom they draw their extension. In the heavens, he is named Michael, and on earth, he is called al-Miqdād.

Following him, specifically in the Third Aerial Sphere, is the first of the four birds in the rank of the Beginning. He is the one who affirmed the response to what he heard, and hastened to the call. He is the most radiant and shimmering star, a pearl of the world in a second cycle through the gnosis of the Lord of the Mathānī (The Seven Oft-Repeated). His name is the Near One, and his Gate is the Builder for the masters of insight and meanings. He is the West Wind (Rīḥ al-Dabūr), Abū al-Durr al-Dārī. His name in the heavens is Isrāfīl, and on earth, he is Jundub ibn Junādah al-Ghifārī (Abū Dharr).
