And that is His saying, the Almighty:

{O reassured soul, return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing [to Him], And enter among My servants, And enter My Paradise.}1

And this is its mingling with the World of Purity and the People of Abstraction, and the Paradise of the Veil—which is the Intellect from which was its beginning and to which is its return.

And [it is] its union with the Divine Soul, which is the Rank of the Attached Gate (Al-Bab al-Lasiq) and the Speaking Figure (Al-Shabah al-Natiq); so it acquires from him and takes from him.

And since Man is in the captivity of Nature and the fetter of Lust, like a drowning person, he needed Worship by nature [to counter] the powers of the body; as if he is attracted to the lustful powers and the action [of the world] to obtain happiness.

And indeed, Man inclines, and the inclination is with the motives of desires. And that is a distraction from the worship of Allah, a hindrance to him from attaining happiness, and a cause for ugly deeds which necessitate punishment a cause for permanent punishment. And when it [the soul] is attracted to righteous deeds, it deserves Honor (Karama) from Allah, and glad tidings come to it, by the evidence of His saying, the Almighty:

{Their Lord gives them good tidings of mercy from Him and approval and of gardens for them wherein is enduring pleasure.}2
