While he is still in his world, he becomes Light connected to the Spring of Lights, taking from the High Powers according to his portion and readiness, for the observation of the Presence of Majesty, Omnipotence, and Perfection.

Then, His soul is stripped of preoccupations and desires, and he does not suffer by the passing of painful things. Rather, his Intuition (Hads) strengthens, and the illumination of the light of his soul increases.

So he becomes a cause for guidance, a path for rectitude, a mine for the intent (Qasd), and a place for discernment (Tawassum). He is named with the name of the People of Al-A'raf (The Heights), and is written among the People of Remembrance (Ahl al-Dhikr) about whom Allah said:

{Men whom neither commerce nor sale distracts from the remembrance of Allah, establishing prayer, and giving zakah.}1

In this verse, there are secrets whose outward appearance is lights:

Commerce (Tijara) here is: Acquisition from Realities (Haqa'iq), and ascending in the degrees of Knowledge to the inwards of known things.

Sale (Bay') is: The Correspondence (Munasaba) between the Inward sayings and the Outward sayings indicating the Gnosis of Allah and the knowledge of His Lights.
