Because of this, its subsistence and eternity endure, for it is the Form of the Great Gate 1.
The scholar who knows Allah (Al-‘Alim al-‘Arif) must possess a Correct Posture so that the Encounter may occur for him, the correspondence may be perfected, and he may move with Yearning Movements (Al-Harakat al-Shawqiyya). This enables him to: Accept the Emanation (Fayd). Acquire the Illuminations of Lights. Receive the Gleams of Generosity and the Precedents of Mercy from the direction of the First Initiator.
{Our Lord is He who gave each thing its creation and then guided [it].}2
Thus, for the one prepared to receive the Emanation, there occurs a Simplicity (Basata) in his essence and an Abstraction (Tajrid) from his density.

1Annihilation (Fana'): Annihilation in the Beloved is the very essence of Subsistence (Baqa') and Eternity. It is the annihilation of the Partial Intellect into the Universal Intellect.“O reassured soul, return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing [to Him], And enter among My servants, And enter My Paradise.” [Surah Al-Fajr]Since the Intellect in Man was originally not separated from the Universal Intellect, nor divided. It wanders in everyone according to his capacity; it is not separated from the Light of the Creator, nor is it divided."As for the Holy Rational Soul (Al-Nafs al-Natiqa al-Qudsiyya): It returns a Return of Neighborhood ('Awd Mujawara). As the Commander of the Faithful (Exalted be His Might) said to the Bedouin in the Hadith of the Soul:"O Master, and what is the Holy Rational Soul?" He said: "A Divine (Lahutiyya) Power. The beginning of its origination is at worldly birth. Its seat is the True Religious Sciences. Its matter is Intellectual Supports. Its action is Divine Gnosis. The cause of its separation is the dissolution of the bodily instruments. So when it separates, it returns to that from which it began—a Return of Neighborhood, not a Return of Mixture (Mumazaja)..."
