And they become as Allah the Almighty said: {And they will say, 'Our Lord, indeed we obeyed our masters and our dignitaries, and they led us astray from the [right] way. Our Lord, give them double the punishment and curse them with a great curse.}1

That is because they took lightly what the Masters (Mawali)—Exalted be Their Might—considered difficult. And they [the Masters] made their speech regarding it by way of Inspiration (Wahy) and Allusion (Ima'), so that it would not fall to the people of ignorance, disbelief, and error.

So they made it a secret and deposited it in the hearts of their friends, their lovers, and the keepers of their trust. They encoded it in books and concealed it with their utmost effort.

I only did what I did due to the tightness of my chest and my distress (Ihraji). So I seek refuge in Allah from what I have committed, and I turn to Him in repentance.

And know that the Quran contains Inward Indications (Isharat Batina) which the knowledge of the scholars falls short of [grasping].
