So he becomes then a Unitarian (Muwahhid), a Sanctifier (Munazzih), an Abstracted one (Mujarrad), a Possessor (Malik), and a Gnostic (Arif). And this is the rank of the People of Connection with Allah who are marked by Faith.
Allah the Almighty said regarding Man:
{Have We not made for him two eyes? And a tongue and two lips? And shown him the two ways?}1
He only made for him the two eyes so that he may be guided by them in the Lights and differentiate between the Subtle (Latif) and the Dense (Kathif).
And He made for him the tongue to interpret (Yutarjim) what he perceived of known things, and what reached him of ranks and degrees. And He made for him the two lips as a veil for the tongue, so that he may remain silent or speak at the time when silence or speech is appropriate.
And "The Two Ways" (Al-Najdayn) are the Intellect and the Soul, due to the branching of their perceptions and the divergence of their objectives.
