And his saying [in the Adhan]:

"I testify that the Unique (Al-Ahad) is the Restorer of the Occultation of Eternity."

He means by it the Eternal Form, and that it is the Singularity of Essence and Reality, guiding to the Tawhid of Eternity.

Then he said:

"And I testify that the One (Al-Wahid) is a Messenger from Him, and an indication upon Him."

He did not separate from Him so as to be a second with Him, nor did he connect to Him [physically] so as to be exactly Him; rather, he is His Supreme Word 1 and His Greatest Sign.

And we have already presented the saying to you in other than this place, clarifying it so that you may know it—if Allah wills.

And the Iqama for the Prayer was made singular (Furada) only for its abstraction from looking at the High Ranks and for wayfaring in the Ranks of the Abstract Lights.

Footnotes

1The High Ranks: The Light, the Radiance, and the Shadow. It is upon the Unitarian, Sanctifying, Abstracting Gnostic who prays, to sanctify the Meaning (The Almighty) from his Shadowy view first (i.e., the Human perspective, or the manifestation of the Occultation in the hidden/secret times). And then, to sanctify Him, exalt Him, and magnify Him above his sensory vision of the Radiant Manifestation appearing to the eyes. And whoever does not ascend to the Rank of the Abstract Light—which is the Supreme Veil of Allah and the Station of the Universal Intellect—then he is not praying, connected to Allah in reality, acquiring from the gleams of the Holy Lights according to the measure of his acceptance, readiness, and merit.
