"The Union of Souls and Intellects Acquires the Knowledge that is the Cause for Perfection"
Know, O righteous brother, that the scholars and the masters among the loyalists (Al-Mawali) have agreed upon realities—in which no possessor of intellect, core understanding (Lubb), and knowledge has any doubt at all:
That the Great Gate and the Ancient Cause is the Universal Soul, originated from the First Intellect, which is truly the Veil of Allah, connected not separated.
And that the Gate connected to the Veil is the Universal Soul, from which the souls of the heavens emanated, and by whose manifestation the existents appeared. And it is the Attached Gate (Al-Bab al-Lasiq), the Speaking Figure (Al-Shabah al-Natiq), and the Facilitated Proof.
And the world of this rank is the world of the Abstract Deity1.
And from this [rank] emanated the Intellects, the Souls, the Quiddities (Mahiyyat), the Essences (Dhawat), and the Separables (Mufaraqat).
And you must know that after this rank is the Rank of Lights and their abstracts, and the Station of the Total Gate—which is the Universal Soul—and the Form of the Active Intellect (Al-Aql al-Fa'al) from which Realities are acquired. And in the Science of the Inward (Batin), it is a Garden (Janna).
