And the Form from which the Light, the Radiance, and the Shadow emanate1 is the Hyle of Hyles (Hayula al-Hayulat), the Foundation of Movements, and the Agent of Effects2.

Look, O righteous brother—may Allah grant success to you and us in what pleases Him—at the saying of the Almighty:

{Whoever Allah guides - then he is the [rightly] guided.}3

And His saying:

{Indeed, you do not guide whom you like, but Allah guides whom He wills. And He is most knowing of the [rightly] guided }4

And look at the saying of the Messenger (Exalted be His Might):

"Whoever the Quran does not guide, Allah does not guide."

And his saying:

"Whoever is not guided by the Lights, he is astray."

And his saying:

"Whatever you differ in, present it to the Book of Allah."

Footnotes

1He intends here that the Light, the Radiance, and the Shadow are like a parable struck for the Acquired Intellect (Al-Aql al-Mustafad) so that what emanates upon it from the Active Intellect (Al-Aql al-Fa'al) may be imprinted on its mirror.
2The Master al-Sadiq (Exalted be His Might) said: "He was before the 'Before', and before a responder responded, for there was no one other than Him; and before Place, for there was no place except His Place. And He is to infinity; He does not shift from a state, nor did He cease from what His Being (Kiyan) was. He did not lack anything to be known by it, nor was He attributed to another to be known by him. Rather, He is Him where He is, and where He was when there was nothing but Him..." (...up to his saying...) "So the Anza'iyya Form (Al-Surah al-Anza'iyya — The Supreme High Form) is the Essence of the Radiance and the Shadow. It is the one that did not change in the ancient eons, nor in the times that occur. Its outward is the Anza'iyya Form, and its inward is the Meaning-ness (Al-Ma'nawiyya). And that Form is the Hyle of Hyles and the Foundation of Movements..."
