It is only known by a Locus (Mawdi') not overtaken by severance (Insuram), nor changed by the passage of days; its configurations do not differ, nor do its attributes diverge. Thus, its outward indicates its inward1.

Accessing the knowledge of the Souls and Intellects—which are the Veils, the Gates, and the Abstracts in potentiality and actuality—is only possible for the Disciplined One (Al-Murtad) trained in Knowledge. At that point, he knows that [The Eternal (Al-Azal) is other than the Eternalities (Al-Azaliyyat)]; because the Eternalities are extended through the Eon (Dahr), as long as its span advances. And the "Goal" is the end of the Sought Thing.

Upon this is the saying of Al-Jali:

"Muhammad, [of] the Praise, is a Goal for us, From the Goal of Goals, the Possessor of Bounty."

And the Total Goal2 is the Master "Meem" (Exalted be His Might). The indication falls upon him, and it is he who possesses the Form of the Whole.

Footnotes

1The Light, the Radiance, and the Shadow: These are multiple forms from our perspective. However, this conceptual cosmic multiplicity is gathered by Unity in the Form witnessed by vision and insight. The Visible Form, in terms of itself, is accompanied by Spiritual Perfection, Permanence, Fixity, and Eternity."It is known by a locus not overtaken by severance (interruption) nor affliction by change": This "Locus" indicated here is the Sky/Heaven (Al-Sama'), and necessarily, the indication is to the Luminous Form appearing in that Locus.
2He only intends by his saying "The Total Goal" relative to us. For although the Name is the Total Goal for us—of whose majestic greatness we cannot enumerate even a fraction—yet above the Name is the Meaning (Al-Ma'na), the Inaccessible Unseen (Al-Ghayb al-Mani').
