And he is the Active Intellect (Al-Aql al-Fa'al), which is His Veil, His Prophet, His Chosen One, and His Word connected to his Originator and his Initiator—who is the God. And from him appeared Power, Volition, and Will.
And he is the one indicated by the "Meem" (M), to him be the submission.
Then, there appeared from this Active Intellect—which is the Veil of Allah and His Attribute—the Universal Soul (Al-Nafs al-Kulliyya)1, from which emanated the intellects and from it emanated the intellects] and the souls of those in the heavens and the earth. And it [the Universal Soul] is the reality of every form.
