When the Three Souls [Vegetative, Natural, Animal] overcome the Rational Soul, they incline their owner toward vices. And it acquires from animals corrupt, impure morals that distance him from his Holy Spirit and the locus of his intimacy.
And these are the ones about whom Allah said:
{And be not like those who forgot Allah, so He made them forget themselves. Those are the defiantly disobedient. Not equal are the companions of the Fire and the companions of Paradise. The companions of Paradise - they are the attainers [of success]}.1
And it is for us to stop at what we have presented of this Art (Fann), lest it becomes too long and causes boredom, and we exit from what we intended to clarify and explain. For it is the habit of minds (Khawatir) to experience fatigue and boredom.
I have only alerted the possessors of Knowledge and Understanding to the sources of the objectives. And I have closed it against the stubborn Denier (Al-Jahid).
Because I presented what I presented of Subtleties (Nukat), Allusions (Isharat), Realities (Haqa'iq), and Guidances:
The Scholar knows them, so his chest expands and his thought is illuminated. And there is for him a scope within them by which the demands of the sayings expand.
And the Ignorant Denier denies them, so he turns back on his heels, driven away (Khasi'an) and weary (Hasir).
