And he has a Fourth Soul, by which the Human Type was singled out. It is the Rational, Intelligent, Discriminating, Thinking, Governing [Soul], derived from the Holy Divine Soul. What was impressed in its essence from the Forms of Intelligibles (Suwar al-Ma'qulat) impressed from the Active Intellect (Al-'Aql al-Fa'al). [The Active Intellect] is derived from the side of Pre-eternal Care (Al-'Inaya al-Azaliyya).

[It receives] the Forms of Intelligibles and what is possible to exist in the generated beings (Al-Ka'inat). So he [The Active Intellect] is the Emanator (Mufid) upon souls of his Power, which he utilized from the Giver of Intellect and Generosity, and the Emanator of Good upon every existent.

So the Virtuous, Good Souls—which derive support from him—transmit them according to their readiness and acceptance. Thus, there becomes impressed in their essences what was impressed in the Active Intellect from the Forms of Divine Realities.

So he speaks of the generated beings, informs of the wonders of what is in the earth and the heavens, and witnesses the Higher World with ocular witnessing (Mushahada 'Iyan).

Time does not limit it, nor does Space separate it. [It is] connected to the World of Divinity with the strongest connection. Distractions do not distract it, nor do obstacles hinder it.

So those souls are united with their Principle, deriving support from their Master. Allah has looked upon them with the eye of His care, bestowed upon them His guidance, and inspired them with His love.
