And indeed, the Gate—his matter, his being, his essence, and his action—is from the Veil. And the Veil is very subtle (Latif), not appearing except by his Gate—which is the Universal Soul.
And the Universal Soul does not manifest its action, nor does it make itself known to the World of Universes, except from the Holy Spirit (Ruh al-Quds)—which is the Sun. And from the Spirit of Ascensions (Ruh Dhi al-Ma'arij)—which is the Moon.
And they are the Two Gates indicating [Him]1. As the Master (Al-Sayyid) said:
"A Gate and a Clasp/Transaction (Safqa)."
And they are the Gate of Guidance and the Gate of Hitta (Remission)2, and it is the place of the appearance of the Gate and the Veil [appears] by the Holy Spirit (Ruh al-Quds), from whom Generosity overflows. And [he is] the Giver of Life, the Matter of Subsistence, and the Seat of Might, Joy, Good, and Pleasure. And the Spring of Light and the Secret of Manifestation. The One standing over every soul with what it has earned; from whom not an atom's weight is hidden in the earth or in the heaven.
