His end is not reached, nor is His goal described.

[He is] Near in the utmost proximity, Far in the utmost distance.

All that is in the Whole (Al-Kull) is in Him; from Him, and through Him it appeared.

Nothing is devoid of Him, and nothing encompasses Him.

And He is the Great, Great Name of Allah, with whose knowledge Allah favored the Prophets, the Truthful (Al-Siddiqin), the Knowing Wayfarers (Al-Salikin al-Arifin), and those whom He singled out among the Believers.

So these are some of the descriptions of the Veil.

As for the Supreme Gate (Al-Bab al-A'la), who is the Attached Gate of Allah (Bab Allah al-Lasiq) and the Speaking Figure (Al-Shabah al-Natiq): He is the Universal Soul (Al-Nafs al-Kulliyya) indicated as the Gate.

He is the Light of Allah and the Secret of the Existence of Existence. He is the Light of the Intellect, its Attribute, its Speech, and its Word.

His Light is unlimited, his span is uncounted, his place is not missing, and his manifestation is unwitnessed.1

Footnotes

1The Supreme Gate indicated in the text: Is the Visible Luminous Form. He is the Light of the First Intellect (The Supreme Veil) and its Attribute."His manifestation is unwitnessed" (Ghayr Mashhud): This does not mean he is invisible to the eye as a Form. Rather, it means that his Power is not witnessed by the eye.He (The Almighty) is manifest by His Power, but the Power itself is not seen; rather, what is seen is the effect of the Power.
