[This was] so that:
"He who perished might perish upon clear evidence, and he who lived might live upon clear evidence."
And Allah the Almighty has said:
{And it is He who is [the only] Deity in the heaven, and on the earth [the only] Deity.}1
Thus, He guided them to the Reality of Manifestation and connected their light to The Light.
And He said:
{Do you feel secure that He who is in the heaven would not cause the earth to swallow you and suddenly it sways?}2.
And He said:
{Indeed, the rising of the night (Nashi'at al-Layl) is harder in tread and more upright in speech. Indeed, for you by day is a prolonged occupation. And remember the name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with [complete] devotion. [He is] the Lord of the East and the West; there is no deity except Him, so take Him as Disposer of affairs}.3
And He said:
{[He is] Lord of the two Easts and Lord of the two Wests.}4
