From Wahb bin Munabbih, from the route of Harun bin Antara, who said: "Jesus came with seventeen of the disciples in a house, and they surrounded them. When they entered upon them, Allah formed them all in the image of Jesus. They said to them: 'You have bewitched us! You must bring Jesus out to us, or we will kill you all.' Jesus said to his companions: 'Who among you will buy his soul today with Paradise?' A man among them said: 'I.' He went out to them and said: 'I am Jesus.' Allah had formed him in the image of Jesus. So they took him, killed him, and crucified him. From then on, it was made to resemble to them, they thought they had killed Jesus, and the Christians thought the same that it was Jesus. Allah raised Jesus that day." Abdul Malik bin Jurayj, from the route of Hajjaj, said: "It reached us that Jesus son of Mary said to his companions: 'Who among you will volunteer, and my likeness will be cast upon him, so he is killed?' A man from his companions said: 'I, O Prophet of Allah.' His likeness was cast upon him, and he was killed. And Allah raised His Prophet to Him. When the likeness of Jesus was crucified, the mother of Jesus and a woman whom Jesus had prayed for and healed from madness came weeping at the crucified one. Jesus came to them and said: 'Why are you weeping?' They said: 'For you.' He said: 'Indeed, Allah has raised me, and nothing but good has befallen me. And this is something that was made to resemble to them.'"1
This first selfless person is the righteous Simʿān al-Qayrawānī, may Allah bless him. When the Lord saw his intensity for the sake of Allah, He cast his likeness upon his enemy, Judas, may Allah curse him, just as the situation was with our Master Hanzala bin As'ad Al-Shabami.
Look, O believer, Lady Mary wept over the crucified one, then the Master Christ informed her that he was certainly not crucified. The Lady knew the reality of the matter, but the teaching, O believer, the teaching, and the perfection of what Allah intended to teach us is absolute submission to His will, glory be to Him.
