Contrary to what you saw. {They plan, and Allah plans. And Allah is the best of planners.}1 The ignorant thought that they could prevail over the Sincere and Trustworthy Muhammad bin Isma'il Al-Ajda', from whom Light and Mercy flow.
Some companions of Abi Al-Khattab, from him is peace, said: "Indeed, Abu Al-Khattab was not killed, nor was any of his companions killed. Rather, it was made obscure and resembled to the people. They only fought by the command of our Master Al-Sadiq, may his glory be exalted, and they left the mosque, and no one saw them, and no one among them was wounded. The people started killing each other, believing they were killing the companions of Abi Al-Khattab, but they were only killing themselves until night fell upon them. When they woke up the next morning, they looked at the dead, and they were all from among themselves, and they did not find any of Abi Al-Khattab's companions killed or wounded."2
The ignorant thought they had plotted against the Unmutilated, the Firm (Al-Ajda' Al-Matin), but he plotted against them, and this is the recompense for what their hands earned.
This is in agreement with the saying of our Master Ja'far Al-Ja'afira, may his glory be exalted, to Al-Mufaddal, from him is peace: "These are Allah's chosen ones and His allies. Do you imagine that Allah, glory be to Him, would make them taste the heat of iron at the hands of their enemies?"3
From Humran bin A'yan, peace be upon him, from our Master Abi Ja'far, may his glory be exalted, who said: "Indeed, Jesus, may his glory be exalted, promised his companions the night Allah raised him to Him. They gathered to him in the evening, and they were twelve men. He admitted them into a house, then he came out to them from a fountain in the corner of the house, shaking his head from the water. He said: 'Indeed, Allah has revealed to me that He is raising me to Him this hour and purifying me from the Jews.
