Observe, my noble brother, how these al-Batrīyyah view our Imams—in a state of incapacity, feebleness, and humiliation before their enemies. Therefore, there is no blame on the patron (Imam) when he is quoted as saying that the Day of Ashura humiliated our esteemed one (Imam Husayn), because they (the Batrīyyah) see them as humiliated and weak, far be it from them to utter the saying of the sons of the freed slaves!
‘Alī ibn Ibrāhīm ibn Hāshim said, reporting from his father, who said: I heard a man from our companions say, after a long narration: "Then the chamberlain came and told him, 'Go to the prison and release Mūsā ibn Ja‘far (whose glory is mighty).' The narrator said: The chamberlain went out, knocked on the prison door, and the warden answered him, saying, 'Who is there?' He said, 'The Caliph calls Mūsā ibn Ja‘far, so bring him out of your prison and release him.' The warden shouted, 'O Mūsā, the Caliph calls you!' Mūsā (whose glory is mighty) stood up, terrified and frightened!! He was saying, 'He does not call me in the middle of this night except for some evil he intends for me.' He stood up weeping, sorrowful, grieved, despairing of his life!!! So he came to Hārūn, and his limbs were trembling!!! He said, 'Peace be upon Hārūn.'1
He stood up weeping, sorrowful, grieved, despairing of his life!!!
There is no might nor power except with Allāh! Is this how you describe the essence of God's greatness, the manifestation of His power, and the locus of His majesty! May Allāh curse you and curse your ridiculous minds! Look, my beloved brother, at the enemy of Allāh, al-Ma'mūn, and what he says about the majesty of our patron, Abū Ibrāhīm Mūsā ibn Ja‘far al-Kāẓim (whose glory is mighty).
Al-Ma'mūn said, after a long narration: "One day, I was standing when al-Faḍl ibn al-Rabī‘ entered and said, 'O Amir Al-Mouminine, there is a man at the door who claims to be Mūsā ibn Ja‘far ibn Muḥammad ibn ‘Alī ibn al-Ḥusayn ibn ‘Alī ibn Abī Ṭālib.' He turned to us—and we were standing at his head, along with al-Amīn, al-Mu’taman, and the rest of the commanders—and said, 'Guard yourselves.' Then he said to his doorman, 'Allow him in, and let him not dismount except onto my carpet.' While we were waiting, an elder entered, whom worship had worn out, as if he were a worn-out waterskin, whose face and nose were marked by prostration.
