Karbala

Discussing Karbala is a significant matter in our time, yet unveiling the circumstances of what transpired is even more crucial. We must therefore reveal to the common people among our brethren the reality of what happened in Karbala, showing how calamity befell the enemy of our master al-Hussein (may his glory be exalted) and how the blinding affliction struck them. We will clarify these truths from the exoteric books by way of indication, while from the esoteric by direct expression. Similarly, we will clarify this reality from the books of the Isma'ili Batriyya Waqifiyya. According to the belief of the "Mouqassira" (the Deficient), narrating traditions from the Waqifiyya is permissible; were it not, two-thirds of their books would be lost due to the large number of Waqifiyya among their narrators. Seeking assistance from Isma'ili books in this matter is therefore a subject of great importance.

We know the subject is extremely sensitive. As the saying goes, "what one learns in youth, one practices in old age." How then can it be for one whom you have mourned since childhood, attending his lamentations at home and abroad, to learn he was neither killed nor despoiled! For whom have you wept? For whom have you beaten your chest, cut your head with a sword, and offered condolences? "

Why did our masters narrate the reports and traditions about weeping, killing, and so on? Is all of this a lie? Were they deceiving us? God forbid that falsehood should ever come from them, for they, glory be to them, are the very sources of God's wisdom. They only said this for a purpose, some facets of which we will uncover by the will and power of God.الباب تمهيد
