The Doctrine of Redemption in Christian Exoteric Texts

"I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death. O Death, where are your plagues? O Grave, where is your sting? Repentance is hidden from My eyes."1

"Remember these things, O Jacob, and Israel, for you are my servant; I have formed you; you are my servant, O Israel; you shall not be forgotten by me. I have blotted out your transgressions like a cloud, and your sins like a mist; return to me, for I have redeemed you."2

"Jesus, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed."3

"But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation. Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption."4

"In whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins."5

"Knowing that you were redeemed not with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot."6

Sayings of the Priests among the Christians

"We believe that Christ died on our behalf, from the aspect of humanity (Nasut), but He did not die from the aspect of divinity (Lahut), because the divinity does not die."7
