From al-Hasan ibn al-Sari, our Master Abu 'Abdillah (may his glory be exalted) said: "If two conflicting Hadiths come to you, take what opposes the people."1

So if you are confused, my believing brother, by the existence of two narrations—one that texts on the killing and another on the "resemblance" (it being made to appear so) and non-killing—then take what opposes the common people, based on the saying of our Masters. And this is the simplest proof of the soundness of the inner Hadith, for it opposes the common people.

From 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi 'Abdillah, our Master Assadiq (may his glory be exalted) said: "If two conflicting Hadiths come to you, present them to the Book of God. What agrees with the Book of God, take it, and what opposes the Book of God, reject it. If you do not find them in the Book of God, then present them to the reports of the common people. What agrees with their reports, leave it, and what opposes their reports, take it."2

So pay attention: What agrees with the Quran, killing or resemblance?

For the Holy Quran was explicit in a famous case, a repeated incident, and one that recurs in every time: the incident of the crucifixion of the Lord Christ (may his glory be exalted). God contradicted the saying of millions at that time and said (may He be exalted, the Speaker): {And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him, but it was made to appear so to them.}3

From 'Abd al-Rahim, our Master Assadiq (may his glory be exalted) said: "Indeed, the Quran is alive, it has not died. And it runs just as the night and day run, and as the sun and moon run. And it runs for the last of us just as it runs for the first of us."4

From 'Ubayd ibn Zurara, our Master Abu 'Abdillah (may his glory be exalted) said: "What you hear from me that resembles the speech of the people, in it is dissimulation. And what you hear from me that does not resemble the speech of the people, in it there is no dissimulation."5
