Glory be to You, O 'Ali, O Great One!!!
Meaning, if a saying came to you from the Imam that he said about the night, "It is day," and about the day, "It is night," it is obligatory for you not to deny it. So may God condemn the sheikhs of "detraction" (those who fall short) for their audacity in weakening and denying the inner Hadith!
Our Master Assadiq (may his glory be exalted) said to a man who asked him: "O son of the Messenger of God, a man known for lying comes to us with a Hadith from you that we do not recognize. Should we reject it?" He said: "Does he say to you that Ja'far ibn Muhammad says, 'The night is not night, and the day is not day'?" He said: "It does not reach that extent." He (may He be exalted and glorified) said: "If he tells you that Ja'far ibn Muhammad says, 'The night is not night, and the day is not day,' do not deny it. For if you deny it, you are only denying Ja'far ibn Muhammad."1
The following Hadith is from the books of the Unitarians. It is clearer than the preceding Hadith from the books of the outer, and the signs of eloquence in it are radiant, and the lights of clarity in it are manifest:
From our Master Assadiq (may his glory be exalted): "Deny the one you know, so that the Gnosis of the one you do not know may become sound for you."2
Our Master al-Baqir (may his glory be exalted) said: "Indeed, our knowledge is great. Whatever your hearts yield to, accept it. And whatever you deny and your hearts recoil from, then refer it back to God, His Messenger, and to your scholars. For destruction comes only from denial and rejection, and that is disbelief. We seek refuge in God from it."3
Our Master Assadiq (may his glory be exalted) said: "Our knowledge is difficult, hard to bear, sharp, penetrating, veiled in secrecy. None can bear it except a favored angel, a sent Prophet, or a believer whose heart God has tested for faith."4
