Therefore, it is obligatory for the seeker of Gnosis (ma'rifa) and the seeker of truth not to stop at a specific understanding and freeze at one level of the facets, believing it to be the face of the final reality. Thus his two days become equal, and he becomes one of the losers, as our Masters (may their glory be exalted) have said.

We will present some reports from the Family of Muhammad (may their glory be exalted) on the necessity of transitioning to the inner of the religion, and that the perfection of religion is not achieved except through it.

From al-Haytham al-Tamimi, our Master Abu 'Abdillah Assadiq (may his glory be exalted) said: "O Maytham al-Tamimi, indeed a people believed in the outer and disbelieved in the inner, and it did not benefit them at all. And a people came after them who believed in the inner and disbelieved in the outer1, and that did not benefit them at all. There is no faith in an outer except with an inner, and no faith in an inner except with an outer."2

Our Master al-Kazim (may his glory be exalted) said: Indeed, the most wretched of your wretched ones is he who denies us in the inner regarding what is reported about us, [one] who believes us in the outer but denies us in the inner3.

Our Master Amir Al-Mouminine (may his glory be exalted) said: Whoever inclines to our outer and forsakes our inner, God will strip him of our guardianship4.

The Greatest Master Muhammad (may his glory be exalted) said: Indeed, God created a creation whom He made keys to good and locks to evil. Good is the inner, and evil is the outer5.

Footnotes

1The meaning of the outer in this narration is faith by dissimulation and the performance of the outer obligations with the people of the outer. For our Master, Ja'far of the Ja'fars and the most truthful of the truthful (may his glory be exalted), said: "God appeared in His essence so that His manners might be adopted. So what we have done, you do. And what we have rejected, you reject. Imitate us and do not separate from us. Adorn us with piety and incline the people toward us with asceticism in the world. Indeed, a man from the Shi'a of 'Ali may be in a locality, and he becomes the keeper of their trusts, the settler of their affairs, the washer of their dead, and the establisher of their place of prayer. So be an adornment for us, and do not be a shame upon us." As for the second meaning, it is not to deny the outer narrations, because we believe that they have many deep inner meanings, and all of them are allusions.
