O cousin, whoever claims that Al-Ḥusayn was not killed has belied the Messenger of Allah and ‘Alī, and belied the Imāms after him in their reports of his killing. Whoever belies them is a disbeliever in Allah the Great, and his blood is lawful for anyone who hears that from him." ‘Abdullāh ibn Al-Faḍl said: I said to him, "O son of the Messenger of Allah, then what do you say about a group of your Shī‘ah who say this?" He said: "These are not from my Shī‘ah, and I am innocent of them." (So and so and so and so, invalidation of the Qur’an, Paradise, and Hell). He said: I said, "Then the saying of Allah Almighty {And you had already known those who transgressed among you concerning the sabbath, and We said to them, 'Be apes, despised.'}" He said: "Those were transformed for three days, then they died and did not procreate. The apes today are like those, and likewise the pigs and the rest of the transformed ones (Masūkh)."1

The first report from my Master Al-Ṣādiq (may his glory be exalted) in which he made lawful the blood of those who do not say he was killed!!!

It is known among the Negligent that the blood of those who oppose them in belief is not made lawful except in the presence of the Imām (glorious is His majesty). So, this hadith is not relied upon in the issue of killing and is not a proof. We started with this point because it is very dangerous for the Unitarians (Muwahhidin), as their blood has been made permissible among the Negligent. Therefore, we remind the Negligent and say: You are not permitted to execute judgments on those who oppose you in belief if the Imām is not manifestly present.

Then the Imām explained that the reason for killing these people is their belying of Ahl al-Bayt. Far be it from Allah that we say this, which is belying them (may their glory be exalted). Rather, on the contrary, one of the most important reasons that made us hold this view is the abundance of narrations stating their purification (Tanzīh) from killing. We believe that the narrations stating killing and urging weeping were said by the Imāms (may their glory be exalted), just like many texts that appeared and which you interpret as Taqiyyah. We have explained the reason for these narrations and the cause of the deception (Talbīs) upon creation, and we have explained the different aspects by which narrations are returned. So, you are the ones who belied the Family of Muḥammad and denied all their sayings regarding their purification from killing. Thus, according to the reason mentioned by the Imām, you have become deserving of killing, not anyone else.
