These, O Jaber, are the names of those whose names and tribes you asked to know. Then Allah (glorious is His Name) transferred them into forms, branded them with [traits of] infamy, marked them with traces He made clear and established in them. He warned against them, frightened [people] of them, kept [people] away from them, and turned [people] away from them. He described them to His Walis and revealed them to His chosen ones in forms, descriptions, genera, and deeds He clarified and condemned. He perpetuated the prohibition of them in excuses and warnings. Thus, he who dissolves them does not beget, he who is famous for them is not accepted, and he who possesses their attributes is not safe. Allah only made them famous, made examples of them, and described them so that the believers would beware of them, and none would lean towards them except the seduced. For they [the forms] manifest from them through desire, switch requests for them, comfort with deception, and enter upon them with a pretext, just as their deed preceded. And [this is] so their insolence may increase in every time and their disbelief in every season, with the succession of torment upon them and its doubling among them; and they have no place to turn away from that nor any place to divert it."
Jaber said: I said: "O my Master, You have bestowed upon me and upon the group of believers in Your presence the knowledge of them in their deeds and the knowledge of their names and tribes, until we knew that. So bestow upon us the knowledge of their descriptions and traits which You mentioned and revealed, and their deeds, so that we may know that just as You made us know those before them. Let us then beware of their comer, for we have no knowledge except what You have taught us and guided us to of the knowledge of what none knows but You."
He said: "O Jaber, before you and before these companions of yours, there was a gathering like this gathering, and all of them were with your Master Amir Al-Mouminine in this house in which Ja'far bin Muhammad is in Kufa. They did like your deed which you did regarding the slaughtering of these people whom you recognized. They slaughtered them as you slaughtered them, and there ran upon them the likes of the torment and exemplary punishment you executed. When what culminated with you regarding them was completed for them, and they sat where you have sat, Amir Al-Mouminine asked them about the knowledge of what they slaughtered and tormented with their hands, just as I asked you about that. Their answer to him was like what you answered Ja'far bin Muhammad, and they asked him, as you asked, about the knowledge of that."
